« Following up on the experimental observations presented last seminar, a predictive model for a representative cell mean width is presented. The model combines the Zeldovich-von Neuman-Döring (ZND) one-dimensional steady model, graph theory, and geometric probabilities. It applies when the confinement geometry does not influence the cellular structure of the detonation and the latter is regular enough, that is, the mixture is stable enough. Predicted widths are in good agreement with experimental results from a variety of reactive mixtures and on a wide range of initial thermodynamic conditions. »
