Le transport de particules déformables par des écoulements turbulents a de nombreuses applications industrielles, allant de la fabrication du papier au recyclage des textiles, ainsi que des applications environnementales, comme le transport de polluants plastiques ou le déplacement de plancton par les courants océaniques. C’est pourquoi de plus en plus d’études se penchent sur le transport de particules déformables dans les écoulements turbulents. Au cours de ce séminaire, je présenterai les principaux résultats que nous avons obtenus au laboratoire sur la modélisation des déformations et leurs impacts sur la dynamique des fibres en turbulence.
Flexible Fibers in turbulence
The transport of deformable particles by turbulent flows has numerous industrial applications, ranging from paper manufacturing to textile recycling, as well as environmental applications such as the transport of plastic pollutants and the movement of plankton by ocean currents. This is why an increasing number of studies are focusing on the transport of deformable particles in turbulent flows. During this seminar, I will present the main results we have obtained in the laboratory regarding the modeling of deformations and their impacts on the dynamics of fibers in turbulence.
