The transverse axe " Energy and Industrial Processes "

The energy and industrial processes theme is transverse by nature to several scientific disciplines; it touches a vast sector of activities and brings together many ITMT researchers from all groups. The work carried out in 2019 has identified four major themes in which the activities of the members of the Energy and Industrial Processes Research Axis are focused:

  • Power generation
  • Chemical engineering
  • Multiphasic processes
  • Industrial safety and security

The axis has set itself a short and medium-term objective:

  • To develop a communication axis through the web to publicize the activities of the axis on these four themes
  • Organize thematic days during visits of industrial partners to give them an overview of the IMFT’s research potential beyond the already well-established contacts between some of the IMFT’s researchers and their privileged partners.
  • To identify new partners through invitations and presentations of the axis’ activities to improve the IMFT’s visibility on the axis’ themes.
  • Develop communication channels with regional organizations and decision-makers dealing with energy policies. Members are already participating to the meetings of the Hydeo, Ad’Occ, SGAR…
  • To identify new themes on which the IMFT could position itself as a research force by relying on the members of the axis.

A more ambitious objective is to progressively structure a community of IMFT researchers who can respond to calls for projects, such as industrial chairs, and in a general way promote overall cohesion on the themes of energy and industrial processes
