PhD : Experimental leakage detection : comparison between harmonic and transient analysis

The aim of this thesis is the primarily experimental analysis of the influence of leakage on fast transients, on the one hand, and on stationary vibroacoustic modes, on the other. This analysis would allow for a better quantification and understanding of the detectability limits of different methods and the identification of the most favorable implementation conditions. The use of acoustic or vibratory loading will allow for the characterization of couplings by controlling the loading level and a better understanding of their influence on the propagation of water hammer transients. To better understand the origin of the detectability limits, two parameters representative of real networks will be studied: the nature of the materials (polymer or metal) and the complexity of the network. Furthermore, the nonlinear influence of leakage on the signals, which is currently poorly understood, will be investigated. Its characterization analysis will complement the sensitivity analysis and will be the subject of modeling work
